What's in my water?

Water is an excellent natural solvent. This means can rarely be found pure and is also frequently altered or treated with chemicals to make it consumable. Tap water contains many different types of chemicals and minerals. Sometimes it can have a metallic taste from the pipes that it comes to your home in. Many wells contain water that tastes earthy, chock full of the minerals and dirt that it comes from. Filters don't clean your water 100 percent. Treatment with chemicals is just replacing one additive with another. Bottled waters generally aren't much better than your tap water and plastic can also contaminate your drinking water. The solution: home water distillation.

What does a Running Waters water distiller do?

The process of obtaining pure distilled water is not some new science or miracle invention. The Running Waters water distiller uses today's technology to duplicate processes that exist in nature. No amount of filtration can remove all of the impurities and leave you with pure h20. And the cost? On average a bottle of water (20 oz) costs about a dollar. For that price you could get at least 10 gallons of pure water from your distiller. 5 gallon bottles of "spring water"? More like 5 to 8 dollars per bottle. What about home filters?

Home filters are generally charcoal filters that attach to a faucet, or in some cases a multi-stage filter system that is between your water line and faucet. After a while, however, the filters become a breeding ground for organisms that multiply in damp places. This reduces the effectiveness of the filters. The only solution to this would be to replace your filters about 10 times as often as the manufacturer recommendations!
